Unlocked HTC One now officially available in the US for $574.99
The HTC One is now officially available in unlocked form in the US. You can get an unlocked smartphone direct from HTC’s own online store. This comes after the Taiwanese company’s latest flagship offering became available at three of the big four carriers in the US just a few days ago. If you really wanted an unlocked One up until now, you could have gotten one from Amazon and its Marketplace members for around $800.
Thankfully though, HTC’s official price is indeed lower than that. Much lower. Which isn’t to say that this is cheap or anything. $574.99 is what you have to pay if unlocked is your thing. This gets you the One with its 4.7-inch 1080p Full HD Super LCD 3 touchscreen, quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 32 GB of internal storage, 4 MP HTC UltraPixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, 2 MP front camera, all-aluminum design, 2 GB of RAM, all the usual connectivity options (including LTE), and a 2,300 mAh battery. The HTC One runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.
For the next few days at least, until the Samsung Galaxy S4 gets its launch in the US, the HTC One is probably the highest-end smartphone ever made. And if you simply have to have one without the constraints of a long-term contract with a carrier (or having to pay for the phone for two years in the case of T-Mobile), then go to HTC’s online store right now and pick one up.
