2 GHz dual-core Intel-powered Lenovo K900 Android smartphone to be available on May 6
The Lenovo K900 did not launch on April 17, as one rumor had it a while back. Instead, it will be released on May 6. And this time, the information is as official as it can be, because it comes straight from Lenovo itself. The company has put up a new banner on its K900 minisite that lists this date as the one to mark in your calendar if you’ve been anxiously waiting for this device.
The Lenovo K900 is the first Intel-powered smartphone to feature a 1080p Full HD touchscreen. It’s also the first phone released that sports Intel’s new Atom Z2580 Clover Trail+ CPU, clocked at 2 GHz. It’s a dual-core part, and it’s by far the best performing Intel mobile processor yet.
The K900 sure took its sweet time to come to market. It was announced at the beginning of January during CES, and it will finally be on sale almost four months later.
The price of the Lenovo K900 hasn’t been officially revealed yet. One past rumor speculated that it might be around $500, but then again that was the same rumor that talked about an April release, so it doesn’t seem very believable at this point.
