BlackBerry Q10 launching in the UK this week-end as a Selfridges exclusive
The BlackBerry Q10 is almost ready to hit shelves around the world – three months after the Z10 was launched.
In the UK, the Q10 will be widely available only starting April 30, despite previous reports that it would go on ale on April 26. Still, there is one place where the new smartphone will be available as of April 26: BlackBerry UK has unveiled on Twitter that Selfridges would exclusively offer the Q10 this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Customers can order the handset right away at Selfridges’ official website, and they should receive it on Friday. The asking price for a SIM-free unit is £579.99 (€680 or $886).
Sure enough, you can also pre-order the Q10 at Vodafone, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u, Clove, Unlocked-mobiles and other places, but they’ll all ship it only starting April 30 (or later).
Part of BlackBerry’s new generation of smartphones, alongside the aforementioned Z10, theQ10 obviously runs BlackBerry OS 10. It comes with a hardware QWERTY keyboard, plus a 3.1 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display (720 x 720 pixels). That aside, the handset features LTE and HSPA connectivity, NFC, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port, 2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording and LED flash, dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage space, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
