HTC One announced in China. Gets dual SIM, micro-SD, removable back-cover, but no removable battery
HTC has finally got a handle on its flagship One production problems. The phone is now shipping across Europe and Asia, sales are starting in USA.
Today they have announced a customized One version for all three Chinese operators – 802 W for China Unicom, 802D for China Telecom and China Mobile’s 802T.
HTC One for China is different from worldwide models- it comes with the removable back cover, micro-SD card support and dual-SIM capability.
Unfortunately, it seems that removable cover will not get a removable battery for your phone. The power source is still hidden somewhere deep inside the device, and the cover is only for the access to second SIM and micro-SD card slots. Which is a pity. Removable battery would have been great.
But the new cover opens new possibilities for phone customization. To show them off HTC has also launched Lee Hom limited edition HTC One, which will retail for US$790, unsubsidized.
Operator subsidized prices have not been announced yet. The Chinese HTC One will go on sale this Friday via local HTC online shop at first.
