AT&T NEC Terrain leaks in press renders, shows us its QWERTY keyboard
AT&T is getting ready to announce a new Android device with a full physical QWERTY keyboard. That’s not something that happens often in this day and age, but perhaps the BlackBerry Q10 gave the carrier some inspiration for ordering this handset. Or maybe NEC, the manufacturer, was the one to think that a QWERTY-endowed Android handset was long overdue. We’ll never know.
That said, what you’re looking at below is the NEC Terrain for AT&T. Complete with keyboard and some yet unknown version of Android. In fact, all the specs of this smartphone are unknown for now, all we have are these leaked renders.
NEC isn’t really all that much into making smartphones for the US market, so this is interesting from that perspective too. Is the Japanese company thinking about getting a foothold in the lucrative North American territory? Possibly, but the extent of its plans is not known yet.
By the looks of it, the NEC Terrain will be a midrange device, which means it might be cheaper than the aforementioned BlackBerry Q10. We’ll let you know when we find out more about it.
