Red BlackBerry R10 gets caught on camera
Remember that affordable BlackBerry 10-running smartphone with a full physcial QWERTY keyboard that is supposedly launching in the second half of this year? It’s been known so far as the R-series, but it may as well get released as the BlackBerry R10 (which is what we’ll call it from now on, until we’ll find out for sure what moniker it will go under).
That particular device… is what you can see in the image below. This showcases a red R10, with a white unit in the background as well. By the looks of it though, both of these seem to be mere dummy units, and not the actual handsets. Still, dummy units have to be identical in terms of looks to the phones they are depicting, so this is what the BlackBerry R10 will look like when it hits the market.
It’s going to be made out of plastic, and we also get a slightly less vague release time frame. This time it’s during Q3 that it’s rumored to be out. That’s between (and including) July and September, by the way. So still a long way off at this point. It’s obviously not going to top the Q10 in terms of specs, but at the same time it should be cheaper than that. A QWERTY BlackBerry 10 device for the masses, then. A Curve successor, if you will.
