Nokia Lumia 720T now available for pre-order on China Mobile. Looks pricey at $405

Nokia has not been doing too well in China. Ever since their popular Symbian smartphones fell out of favor, Nokia sales have been in terminal decline there.

Early Lumias were too expensive and, even with limited carrier support, failed to interest Chinese consumers. And even second generation Windows Phone 8 Lumia 920, 820 and 620 didn’t help much.

And now Nokia is trying to crack Chinese market once again, this time with mid range Lumia 720T on the biggest carrier – China mobile. The phone is now available for pre-order for unsubsidized price of 2499 Yuan ($405) and should start shipping in a few days:

The price seems a bit high for such a mid-range device, but high quality camera, with good low light performance may find an interested buyer.

It will all depend on how much push China Mobile decides to give this handset to get attention of its huge pool of subscribers.
