Sony Xperia SP priced in the US. Xperia Z is already available there
Sony has recently started selling its Xperia Z flagship Android smartphone in the US. The handset is being offered unlocked, costing $629.99. Of course, before buying it, you may want to know that T-Mobile USA will sell the Xperia Z as well, although we don’t know exactly when it’s going to happen.
The other Sony flagship smartphone – Xperia ZL – is also available in the US, for a similar price. The ZL is more compact than the Xperia Z, but it’s not waterproof, and neither dustproof. That aside, both handsets are almost identical, featuring Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 5 inch Full HD display, 13MP rear camera, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support (up to 64GB).
Meanwhile, you can pre-order a third new Xperia from Sony’s US Store: the Xperia SP (see here).
The SP costs $489.99 – it’s cheaper than the Xperia Z and ZL because it’s not exactly a high-end device (although it would have been in the first half of 2012, or in 2011). The Xperia SP runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, featuring a 4.6 inch HD display, 8MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 2,370 mAh battery.
