New HTC Butterfly 2 coming in Q3?

The HTC Butterfly sequel that we told you about last month might be launched in the third quarter of the year (July, August, September). This is what DigiTimes says, noting that the new handset should feature a Full HD display of unknown size, BlinkFeed, BoomSound speakers, and an Ultrapixel rear camera – all these are already included in the HTC One, released in various markets around the world in March.

It remains to be seen exactly what will be different between the Butterfly 2 and the One. The first generation Butterfly (pictured below, introduced at the end of 2012) sports a 5 inch Full HD display, being slightly larger than the One (which comes with a 4.7 inch display). The Butterfly is still selling well in markets like Japan and Taiwan.

DigiTimes also reports about other upcoming high-end smartphones that are expected to debut later this year (and of which we already knew): Apple’s iPhone 6 (or 5S), Samsung Galaxy Note III, and LG Optimus G2.
