No Nokia Lumia 928 announcement on May 14? A Lumia 625 could be unveiled instead
Although the Lumia 928 is sitting comfortably over at Nokia USA’s official website, details on its availability are still missing. Neither Nokia, nor Verizon is willing to share launch details for now. And it looks like they won’t do it on May 14, as believed until now.
According to My Nokia Blog, the Finnish company will unveil a different device during the May 14 event. It could be the Nokia Catwalk (believed to be called Nokia 925), or the Nokia 625 – which reportedly has a 4.7 inch display, and should be a midrange handset. The 625 might be the bigger brother of the 3.8 inch Nokia Lumia 620, released in January this year, and currently costing about $250.
Meanwhile, the 928 can be seen now in a new press image, which shows its front an back. The back clearly hosts a PureView Carl Zeiss camera with Xenon flash. There is no Verizon logo visible, which means the Lumia 928 will probably be introduces not just in the US, but also in various other markets around the world.
Earlier today, Nokia announced the Asha 501 – this, of course, is not a Windows Phone 8 handset, but a tiny 3 inch smartphone using a new Asha interface. The Nokia 501 will be available starting June for only $99 (unlocked).
