Microsoft promises Windows Phone 8 software update for this summer
In a post detailing Nokia’s brand new Lumia 925 (officially announced yesterday, and pictured below), Microsoft has revealed that a software update to all Windows Phone 8 handsets is coming “later this summer.”
It won’t be a major update, bringing FM radio support, support for CalDAV and CardDAV sync protocols (for Google services), while Data Sense will be “available for more carriers to offer”. In addition, hundreds of other tiny enhancements should be included. All these will already be on the Lumia 925 when it hits the market around the world (in June).
Microsoft didn’t say if there are going to be particular WP8 handsets to get the new update first, so we’ll assume it’s going to be rolled-out to all devices at about the same time. Although maybe Nokia’s Lumias will be favored. We’ll see.
