ZTE Grand X2 In announced: Intel Atom Z2580, Android Jelly Bean
ZTE has announced yet another Android smartphone powered by a dual-core Intel processor – about a month after unveiling the ZTE Geek. The new smartphone is called ZTE Grand X2 In and, just like the Geek, it comes with a Intel Atom Z2580 chipset (aka Clover Trail+).
Unlike the previous handset, which sports a 5 inch display, the Grand X2 In has a 4.5 inch screen (1280 x 720 pixels). It runs Android Jelly Bean, further featuring: ZTE’s My-Pop function “for easy-to-use one-handed operation”, 8MP rear camera with zero shutter lag and 24 frames per second shooting, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
“We are proud to announce the ZTE Grand X2 In smartphone pursuing our multi-year strategic collaboration with Intel. The ZTE Grand X2 In is set to build on the success of the ZTE Grand X In, our first flagship smartphone in Europe to feature Intel Inside, and further increase ZTE’s growth in the high-performance smartphone market segment,” declared William Chhao, Terminal Director at ZTE France.
The Grand X2 In will be released in Europe starting the third quarter of the year. Its price isn’t known at the moment.
ZTE was the fifth-largest smartphone maker in the first quarter of 2013, shipping 9.1 million handsets around the world – about 800,000 less than its main Chinese competitor (Huawei).
