Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini’s pricing doesn’t look too promising
Officially announced by Samsung at the end of last week, the Galaxy S4 Mini is exactly what its name suggests: a smaller (and obviously cheaper) version of the hugely popular Galaxy S4 – sold in more than 10 million units around the world until now.
The S4 Mini won’t go on sale until July, but we already have official word regarding its price. Samsung Ukraine has unveiled that the smartphone’s suggested retail price is 5,000 UAH – about €460, or $612.
In the UK, retailer Handtec is asking a similar price for the 8GB version of the S4 Mini: £389.99 (about €456, or $598).
Now, if Samsung wants the S4 Mini to be successful, it needs to sell it for considerably less. After all, you can buy a Google Nexus 4 8GB for just €299, and the S4 Mini is certainly no match for that.
Running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini features a 4.3 inch qHD display, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front-facing camera, dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, MicroSD card support, and a 1,900 mAh battery. It’s going to have two color versions (at least for the beginning): black and white.
We’ll let you know when the S4 Mini actually hits the market – it should be released pretty much all over the world eventually.
