7″ Lenovo IdeaTab A1000 and A3000 tablets get priced for the US, starting at just $149

Back in February, Lenovo announced a couple of 7-inch tablets that had rather low-end specs and were thought to be affordable. And probably no one cared. Today though these have been priced for the United States, and they’re pretty cheap indeed. Maybe this will make them more interesting. That said, there are more and more extremely cheap tablets announced by the day, and they’re all getting better and better specs.

Let’s go back to the Lenovo devices, though. First up, the IdeaTab A1000. This is a seven-incher with 1,024×600 resolution, a 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, a 0.3 MP front camera (and no rear unit), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 3,500 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The Lenovo IdeaTab A1000 can be ordered from Lenovo’s website for just $149, with a promo code applied. The ‘normal’ price is $189, according to the Chinese company.

The IdeaTab A3000 is quite strange. It comes with a rear camera, which the A1000 lacks, but it loses one CPU core too. The A3000 has a 1.2 GHz single-core processor. Though the strangest thing of all is that it’s more expensive than the A1000, the rest of the specs being identical. The A3000 is being listed by Lenovo as starting at $229, and it’s really unclear what that extra cash would be getting you.

Anyway, to check out both models head over to this page at Lenovo. Hopefully they’ll be in stock soon.
