HTC One Mini (M4) photographed again, should be launched by August
The upcoming launch of the HTC One Mini (also known as M4) has been confirmed by two different sources recently. The first is Bloomberg, which reports that “people familiar with the matter” say the new handset will “go on sale by August.”
The second source is Engadget – they even have a new photo that’s showing the One Mini next to the larger HTC One.
The One Mini sports a 4.3 inch display – significantly smaller than the screen on its big brother. The display resolution is unknown at the moment, but it could be HD (1280 x 720), or qHD (960 x 540). The good news is that the new handset keeps the aluminum construction of the original One, also coming with: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Beats Audio, and an Ultrapixel rear camera. The processor inside the One Mini could be a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 unit.
All in all, it looks like mini smartphones are becoming somewhat of a trend, with Samsung and Vodafone having already announced the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Smart Mini, respectively. Of course, Samsung also has the Galaxy S III Mini, which is available since November 2012.
Later this year, HTC Might introduce an HTC One Max, too. This supposedly has a 5.9 inch display, so it’s going to enter the phablet territory.
