Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will be released by AT&T on June 21, priced at $199.99 with contract
Yesterday AT&T decided to tease the fact that it would be selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active soon, with more info pegged for today. Well, here we are, and what’s been rumored at the end of last month is now official: the rugged version of Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone is indeed coming to AT&T.
The carrier will start sales on June 21, which is when you’ll be able to find the Galaxy S4 Active in stores or online. To buy one, you’ll need to part with $199.99 and sign a new two-year contract, just as you’d expect from a high-end smartphone in this day and age.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is almost identical to its non-rugged sibling in terms of specs, aside from the rear camera, which has been downgraded to an 8 MP unit in the Active. Also, the rugged version is wider, taller, and thicker than the ‘vanilla’ Galaxy S4, but not by much.
In other words, this is a perfect phone for those who know they are likely to accidentally drop theirs in water, or make it deal with loads of dust.
The good news is that if you desperately crave one of these, you’ll be able to pre-order one starting tomorrow, by going to this page. The phone will be available in two colors: Urban Grey and Dive Blue.
