AT&T’s LG Optimus G can now be bought for just $0.01
Amazon’s policy of heavily discounting smartphones that are a few months old has made another ‘victim’. In this case, it’s AT&T’s LG Optimus G. This is basically the Google Nexus 4 without any of its Nexus bits, and with LG’s software overlay on top of Android. If you don’t care about timely updates to your handset’s operating system, though, the Optimus G is a great buy. No longer powered by the fastest processor around, its Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro is still mighty capable for day-to-day use, so you won’t feel this is underpowered in any way.
The LG Optimus G can now be yours for a whopping $0.01. Yes, one cent. This price applies to new customers and to upgraders alike, so there’s really only one caveat left (and you probably saw it coming): you do need to sign a new two-year contract with AT&T if you want to get the phone for practically free. That’s just the way things are, nothing you can do about it.
If, however, you have no issue with this, then you are getting a pretty good deal. After all, carriers only give you low-end phones for ‘free’ (with contract), they don’t let their flagships from just a few months back get into such price points. And that, of course, is where Amazon comes in and makes your life easier.
So if you want a free Optimus G now, this is the link you need.
