Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, 8.0 and 7.0 launching in the US on July 7. LTE-ready Tab 3 8.0 and Tab 3 10.1 priced in Europe
Samsung has just announced that it would officially launch its new Galaxy Tab 3 tablets in the US on July 7. All three models will be available starting that day: Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, and Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.
For the beginning, only the Wi-Fi versions of the tablets will be released – with two color options: white and golden brown. Prices are as follows: Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 Wi-Fi – $399; Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Wi-Fi – $299; Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Wi-Fi – $199.
Pre-sales will start tomorrow, June 25, at Samsung.com, as well as at major US retailers, including: Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Office Depot, Newegg, h.h. Gregg, Sears, and others.
Meanwhile, the LTE-capable Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Tab 3 10.1 have been priced in Europe. Dutch retailer TabletCenter is asking €429 for the Tab 3 8.0 LTE, and €509 for the Tab 3 10.1 LTE. The Wi-Fi-only versions will be about €100 cheaper – as we’ve reported not long ago.
There is no word on when the LTE editions of the tablets will be available in the US. However, it could happen in the next few months, with at least a couple of major carriers probably offering them.
All three Galaxy Tab 3 models run Android Jelly Bean, although only the Tab 3 10.1 and Tab 3 8.0 come with the latest 4.2.2. The Tab 3 7.0 runs Android 4.1.2 – but it will be updated to 4.2.2 at some point.
