Rugged Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE for Verizon gets official, will be out on June 27 for $99.99
Around a couple of weeks after it got leaked, here we are today when the Casio G’zOne Commando 4G LTE has been officially announced by Verizon. And it’s exactly what you thought it would be – a very rugged and extremely rugged-looking follow-up to the non-4G version from a while back. The innards have been updated a bit, the design too, and a new iteration of Android is running the show.
The new G’zOne Commando 4G LTE has a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, an 8 MP rear camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, a 1.3 MP front camera, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of built-in storage space. No word on what precise Android version is employed, but judging from the press images it should be at least 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The handset can be operated with gloves, and it’s obviously rugged. The new Casio G’zOne Commando with 4G LTE support will be available on June 27 (that’s this coming Thursday) for $99.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) with a new two-year contract from Verizon.
