Sony Xperia C (dual SIM) and Xperia SP with TD-LTE also announced
Apart from unveiling the 6.4 inch Xperia Z Ultra and the SmartWatch 2, today Sony has also introduced the Xperia C, and a TD-LTE edition of the Xperia SP.
As previously reported, the Xperia C is a dual SIM handset that sports a 5 inch qHD (960 x 540) display. It runs Android Jelly Bean (the exact version isn’t known), featuring a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, and MicroSD card support.
The Xperia C will be available in select markets soon (for a price that hasn’t been disclosed), with China Unicom being the first to offer a version of it (model number S39h). Like the Xperia Z Ultra, the Xperia C has three color versions: black, white, and purple. You can see its official webpage (in Chinese) here. This is Sony’s first device to come with a MediaTek chip, as well as its largest to feature dual SIM capabilities.
As for the Xperia SP with TD-LTE (model number M35t), this will be a China Mobile exclusive handset (since TD-LTE is a technology developed by China Mobile). TD-LTE aside, the smartphone should offer the same features as the international Xperia SP, including Android Jelly Bean, a 4.6 inch HD display, dual-core processor, VGA front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 8GB of internal memory, and 1GB of RAM.
