Leaked Sprint Motorola X picture brings back memories of days when Google didn’t care about design
We already know that the new Motorola’s X phone is coming sometime this fall. Their CEO Denis Woodman told us so.
And today we got a picture of the device being tested on Sprint network, which could be the Moto X smartphone.
If this indeed turns out to be the the X phone, Google’s influence on it is unmistakable. And, so far, it’s not for the better.
You may have liked them or not, but pre-Google Motorola phones always had a strong character. You just had to glimpse at the device to easily recognize that it’s Motorola.
The handset pictured above, its like going to the bad old days when Google didn’t care about how the things look&feel. Sprint’s Moto X has such a bland, generic design, it’s uncanny. Put it next to Galaxy Nexus, or Nexus 4 – and you’ll have a very hard time telling which is which.
Hopefully, the software and components inside will make up for disappointing looks.
Give me the device with Snapdragon 600 CPU and 2GB of RAM for speed, with a big battery to last me through at least a day of heavy use, add a really good camera to a non pocket-busting 4.7” waterproof package, and you got yourself a deal, Motorola. Any clever and useful software gimmicks will just be an icing on the cake.
The features above are indeed rumored to be part of Motorola X. Lets hope those rumors are true.
