Samsung Galaxy Note III to be announced on September 4?
Whether you’ll love it or hate it, Samsung’s Galaxy Note III is definitely coming later this year. We’ve heard more than once that the new phablet would be announced sometime in September.
Now, AndroidGeeks claims to have spoken to an insider, who said that Samsung would announce the Note III on September 4 – during one of its special Unpacked events that will take place in Berlin (as a pre-IFA 2013 event). Of course, there’s no way of verifying this piece of info for now. But it’s not unusual for companies to announce new products one or two days before the official start of a major trade show (IFA kicks off on September 6).
Mass production for the new Galaxy Note will reportedly begin in August, so it makes sense for Samsung to announce the device in early September (and possibly to start selling it shorty after that).
Because of manufacturing issues, the Note III might have a version equipped with a Super AMOLED display, and another that comes with an LCD screen. That aside, its features should include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, LTE, and a 13MP rear camera.
Sony has already announced a phablet powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor: the waterproof (and very thin) Xperia Z Ultra, which sports a 6.4 inch display, and should be available starting September.
