Verizon HTC One pictured, still no word on its launch date

Before launching Motorola’s new and mysterious Droid Razr Ultra smartphones, Verizon Wireless should start selling the HTC One.

While we still don’t have official details on exactly when customers will be able to buy it (it’s going to happen “this summer” anyway), Verizon’s HTC One has appeared in a press image thanks to EVleaks The handset looks exactly like its international version, and the one that’s already sold in the US by AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Only the silver edition has been pictured, and there’s no word if Verizon will offer other color options.

HTC One Verizon press

Since the regular HTC One should be updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean pretty soon, Verizon’s version might run this iteration of the OS out of the box. We’ll let you know when the carrier finally decides to launch it.

Meanwhile, there are four older HTC-made smarthpones that you can currently buy from Verizon: HTC Droid DNA ($49.99 on contract), HTC Incredible 4G LTE ($49.99 on contract), HTC Rhyme (free on contract), and HTC 8X with Windows Phone ($49.99 on contract).

The HT Cone has no micro-SD slot. Verizon gonna pitch a weak-sister 16 or 32 Gig model to those hungry for something new? The rumored Droid RAZR Ultra sounds interesting though based upon my experience with the Droid lineup improving with each iteration. We’ll see. Kind of foul that a 64 Gig SG4 has not been released in the U.S. as yet. I’d have considered that one with Verizon.
