HTC One Android 4.2.2 update now rolling out (at least in Taiwan)
The dual-SIM version of the HTC One got its Android 4.2 update last week, and when we told you about that we also assumed that the single-SIM variation would get its new software bits soon thereafter. And here we are today, when the update has started going out in Taiwan. Obviously, at this point it’s only a matter of time until the new software version makes its way across the globe. That said, it may take a few days, or weeks, until it reaches your particular neck of the woods, so don’t just panic if you don’t see it tomorrow. Taiwan seems to be HTC’s favorite spot to launch new software updates, and that makes sense as it’s the company’s home country.
HTC hasn’t made an official changelog available, but we get some of this information via the over-the-air update dialog that you can see below.
Included are an enhanced launcher bar, a rearrangement of the widget panel, a new lock screen (with widgets), enhanced behavior of the home button, the removal of the black ‘menu’ bar, battery percentage availability in the status bar, quick settings, and autofocus improvements for the camera. The update weighs in at around 465 MB, and is labeled 2.24.709.1.
