LG G2 official August 7 launch invites go out, teaser video released and new live pic leaks
LG continues to tease us with their upcoming G2 flagship.
Earlier today they’ve sent out official press invites for the official August 7 G2 launch event in New York, so I guess we are in for another month of these buzz/interest building things.
Damn, but LG seems to be going over the top with their pre-launch marketing campaigns. Company execs hinting about the upcoming new device 4 months before announcement? Sending e-mails to the press about the launch event 7 weeks before the event? Issuing an official PR about what CPU your new flagship will have at about the same time? Then following up with official invitations to that same August 7 event 3 weeks later?
Even without G2 leaks, which are pouring out of every direction, I am fatigued simply by the amount of the pointless official LG G2 PR. And there’s still almost a full month to go before the darn thing is announced.
Speaking of the pointless teaser PR, LG also uploaded this video to YouTube today:
Did it peak your interest about what’s to come soon? Thought so.
And today another live image of LG G2 leaked on Techtastic. Doesn’t show us anything new, but here it is:
Also, in case you missed it during July 4th festivities, last week some rumors surfaced that claim LG G2 will have bigger than expected screen, and better camera. 5.2 inches, instead of of 5” for display, and optical image stabilization feature for camera. The screen part of this rumor goes in to kinda meh territory, but OIS could be a big deal for low light camera performance.
And that’s the round-up of LG G2 news for today. But do expect a lot more of them over the next few weeks.
