HTC One could land at Verizon on August 1, Moto X on August 23
Verizon’s HTC One is still nowhere to be seen in stores, but we’ve been hearing that it’s coming soon for many weeks now. What we didn’t have so far was a release date, even an unofficial one.
It turns out that August 1 may be the date to save if you’re anxiously waiting for HTC’s current flagship smartphone to finally make it to America’s biggest carrier. The date comes courtesy of a purported Verizon roadmap that got sent to Phone Arena.
The oft-rumored Motorola X makes an appearance in the roadmap too, with a supposed August 23 release date attached to it. But that’s not all. As you may or may not be able to discern, other devices are covered by this leak too.
For example, did you know that there’s something called LG Exalt headed to Big Red? Well, now you do. And it will land on July 25, which is in a couple of weeks from today. This will be a flip phone (no, really!), but its claim to fame will be that it has the biggest display of any flip phone. Oh, and crystal-clear sound quality.
Then, on August 15 we get the Samsung Convoy 3, which will unsurprisingly replace the Convoy 2, yet will still be a rugged featurephone. And finally, on August 29 the Samsung Stellar will become available on prepaid plans from the carrier.
Missing from this roadmap is any kind of mention of the upcoming Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini, which probably means that we won’t see this trio in stores until at least September. That is, if today’s leak isn’t a fake. There’s always that small chance, and now you’ve been warned.
