Verizon Motorola Droid Mini shows up next to the Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx
Verizon’s new and unannounced Motorola Droid Mini has appeared in a press image next to its bigger brothers: Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx (these two are similar, but the latter is thicker, reportedly coming with a large battery that can provide 48 hours of “worry-free” usage).
The Droid Mini is obviously smaller than the Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. Other than that, it doesn’t seem that there are any design changes.
We still don’t have clear details on the specs of the new Droids, but seeing all the latest leaks, Verizon and Motorola are probably going to officially announce all of them pretty soon.
All in all, Motorola has decided to do what Samsung is doing since last year, when it launched the Galaxy S III Mini (this year, we also have the Galaxy S4 Mini). And that’s probably a good idea, as not everyone wants / can afford a large, expensive smartphone. I assume the Droid Mini will be offered for $99 on contract, while the Droid Ultra should cost $199, and the Droid Maxx $$249 or $299.
HTC will launch a mini version of its One smartphone, too: it’s going to be called HTC One Mini, and could be available starting the next few months.
