Sony Xperia i1 specs leak. 5” FullHD 20mpx water and dust proof Android smartphone with 3000 mAh battery
Few years ago, Android phones used to be known for their crappy camera quality. But with arrival of 8 megapixel camera sensors and better image processing algorithms, things started improving last year, then only got better in 2013. Today you can take pretty good pics with all high end, and even many mid-range Android smartphones.
Now, Sony wants to take things even further, adding 20 megapixel 1/2.3” ExmorRS camera sensor to their upcoming Xperia i1 (Honami) smartphone.
Full Xperia i1 specs include:
- 5” 1080p FullHD display
- Snapdragon 800 2.2 GHz CPU
- 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory
- microSD support
- 1/2.3” 20.7mpx ExmorRS camera with G-lens and BIONZ image processor
- 2mpx Exmor R front camera
- 3000 mAh battery
- NFC, MHL, Wi-Fi Miracast connectivity
- IPX5/7 compliant (water and dust proof)
- Dimensions: 144×73.9×8.3mm
A dust and waterproof Android handset, with great camera and huge battery to last through the day’s heavy data use… If these indeed are the true specs of the new Sony flagship, I ‘m impressed. On paper it looks much more interesting than Samsung’s Galaxy S4 and even upcoming LG G2. But let’s wait and see how i1 performs in real life.
Xperia i1 should be launched during Sony IFA press conference on September 4th, and ship sometime in Q4.
