HTC Desire 500 to be announced on July 23. HTC One Mini gets certified in China

The mysterious HTC Desire 500 that appeared earlier this month in a document from O2 Germany is about to get official.

According to an invitation revealed by ePrice, HTC will announce the new Desire 500 in Taipei, on July 23.

Unfortunately, there is still no word on what the new handset will offer. The model number suggests it’s going to be smaller and cheaper than the Desire 600 (which features a 4.5 inch qHD display, quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor, and an 8MP rear camera). Like the Desire 600, the 500 might have dual SIM capabilities. In any case, the new Desire will almost certainly run Android Jelly Bean.

Meanwhile, the HTC One Mini (another unannounced smartphone) has been pictured again – this time following its certification by Chinese authorities.

The One Mini could be announced before the end of July, too. It’s going to come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Sense 5 UI, a 4.3 inch HD display, dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, Beats Audio, 4MP Ultrapixel rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.
