Samsung’s SM-P905 tablet may have a 12.2 inch screen
Samsung has launched four new tablets this year (Note 8.0, Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1), and yet none of them can be considered high-end.
But there’s an unannounced SM-P900 / SM-P905 tablet that seems to be capable of filling that void (if we can call that a void). The SM-P900 and SM-P905 model numbers refer to the same device, with the latter probably being the LTE version. Their UA profiles are both listed at Samsung’s website (here and here), confirming a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (the same used by Google’s Nexus 10).
Zauba – an Indian website that “hosts import and export data for the benefit of business community, researchers, economist and others for free” – seems to also confirm the screen size of the SM-P905: 12.2 inches. Assuming the new tablet has a very thin bezel, it could be only slightly larger than the 10.1-inch Nexus 10.
It seems that there are several SM-P905 units which have entered India this month. They’re not for sale, but for testing and evaluation purposes only. Click on the image below to see it larger:
The SM-P900 / SM-P905 could be officially announced by Samsung in early September, when the 5.7 inch Galaxy Note III is also expected to be unveiled. We’ll let you know more when new details arrive.
