Nokia starts pre-orders for the Lumia 625 in Russia, attaches $365 price and August 21 shipping date
The Nokia Lumia 625 is the Finnish company’s biggest smartphone yet. It’s not the flagship, however. Rather it’s a midranger which aims to appeal to those who consider a big screen an absolute must (and don’t necessarily care about its resolution).
The Lumia 625 was announced last month, and it’s going to become available in around two weeks. We’ve already heard that August 26 may be its release date in the UK, but so far it hasn’t been priced.
The situation is different in Russia, though. That’s because over there Nokia itself has started taking pre-orders for the Lumia 625, through its online store. The device is priced at 11,990 rubles, which is about $365 or €272 at today’s exchange rates. That’s certainly not incredibly cheap, then again do keep in mind the fact that smartphones are usually a bit more expensive in Russia compared to the EU for whatever reasons.
Nokia attached a shipping date of August 21 to its pre-order listing, and an expected delivery date of August 22. This means that if you’re in Russia and pre-order one as soon as possible, the Nokia Lumia 625 will be at your doorstep in exactly two weeks from now. Hopefully we’ll see more pre-orders go live in more places soon.
The Nokia Lumia 625 has a 4.7-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, a secondary front-facing camera, a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage space, microSD card support, all the usual connectivity options, and a 2,000 mAh battery. It runs Windows Phone 8 Amber.
