New LG G2 promo video explains the benefits of having buttons on the back
Last week, when LG announced the brand new G2 – presented as “the most exciting and ambitious mobile phone in the company’s history” – it said that the handset would be launched “in the next eights weeks”, with South Korea being the first market to get it. Until that happens, LG has posted a promo video on YouTube, showcasing the advantages of having buttons on the G2’s rear case – instead of traditional rear side buttons.
You can use the rear keys not only to power the smartphone and to adjust volume. The volume key can be long-pressed to launch QuickMemo, or to control the front-facing camera for self-portraits. Here’s the fancy promo video:
LG will introduce the G2 via all major US carriers (Verizon has already presented its versions) – hoping to sell millions of units Stateside only. It will be hard, but not impossible.
In Europe, an unlocked G2 (16GB model) could be sold for around €599.
At launch, the new handset will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. As you probably already know, the G2 features a 5.2 inch Full HD IPS+ display, LTE, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26GHz, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
