Sony Xperia M officially launching this month in Europe
Sony has confirmed (via Facebook) that the company’s latest affordable smartphone – the Xperia M – will be launched in Russia before the end of August. The suggested retail price is 10,990 RUB, meaning about €250, or $332.
At the moment, there are no official confirmations regarding the handset’s release in other countries. However, last month we told you that the Xperia M could also arrive in the UK in August. And it looks like this is true. British retailer Clove is expecting to receive the smartphone in the week “commencing August 19.” It’s asking £195.60 (€258) for a SIM-free unit.
We don’t know if the dual SIM edition of the Xperia M, logically called Xperia M Dual, will be available starting this month, too.
Running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the Sony Xperia M has four color versions: black, white, purple, and yellow – but not all of them will be available in all markets. The handset’s features include a 4 inch display with 854 x 480 pixels, NFC, HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, xLOUD and 3D Surround Sound, active noise cancellation, VGA front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, dual-core 1GHz processor (Snapdragon S4 Plus), 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support (up to 32GB), and a 1,750 mAh battery.
