LG G2 officially confirmed for Canada (Rogers, Bell, Telus and others)
In case you had any doubts about this, the LG G2 is headed to Canada – and most carriers, big or small, will sell it.
LG Canada has officially announced that the G2 would be released by Rogers, Bell, Telus, Wind Mobile, Videotron, and SaskTel. In addition, customers will be able to find the handset at Best Buy, Target Mobile, Future Shop, The Source, and WIRELESSWAVE. No specific launch dates were given, but the new smartphone will certainly be available to purchase starting “this fall”, in two color versions: black and white.
The G2 is the first high-end LG Android smartphone that doesn’t have “Optimus” in its name (this brand will be used only for mid-end and low-end handsets from now on).
Feature-wise, the G2 offers a 5.2 inch Full HD IPS display (423 ppi), power and volume buttons on the back, LTE connectivity, NFC, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor (2.26 GHz), 13MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and a large 3,000 mAh battery. At launch, the G2 will run Android 4.2.2 (upgradeable to 4.3 and beyond).
We don’t know if the US will get the LG G2 before Canada. All major US carriers will offer the handset at some point anyway.
