HTC One will finally be available at Verizon on August 22 for $199.99
Verizon has been incredibly, frustratingly slow in launching the HTC One. This is pretty much a well known fact by now, but the wait will finally be over next week.
Verizon’s had a sign-up page for the HTC One up and running for a few days, and minutes ago the carrier decided to finally announce the release date for the superphone: August 22. That’s next Thursday, so start saving up that cash. Speaking of which, the HTC One is going to cost the usual (for high-end smartphones) $199.99 with the always necessary two-year contract.
Verizon has been delaying this release for months now, and many have speculated that it might have something to do with the HTC Droid DNA, a device made by the same manufacturer, and that has a few similarities to the One. However, they’re not identical in specs, so why Verizon couldn’t just have sold both for the past few months is really beyond us.
Anyway, we expect pre-orders for the One to start over at the carrier nicknamed Big Red pretty soon. Stay tuned.
