Samsung Galaxy Note III to start shipping in September, Galaxy Gear a bit later
Alongside the Galaxy Note III, Samsung should also announce a device called Galaxy Gear next month (on September 4). The Gear is Samsung’s first attempt at making a smartwatch. Reportedly, it features a 1.67 inch AMOLED display with 320 x 320 pixels, NFC, 1GB of RAM, and an Exynos 4212 processor.
While they’ll be announced the same day, it looks like the Note III and the Galaxy Gear aren’t going to be released at the same time.
Sam Mobile has it that the Galaxy Note III will start shipping in week 36 – which is the week of its announcement (September 2 – September 8). The Galaxy Gear should be shipped “around week 40” – hence in late September / early October.
Obviously arriving as the successor to the successful Note II, the Galaxy Note III seemingly features a 5.68 inch Full HD display, 13MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,200 mAh battery. The LTE version (model number SM-N9005) uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, while the non-LTE one (SM-N900) comes with Samsung’s new Exynos 5420 Octa.
According to Sam Mobile, there will be no Galaxy Note III 16GB. So the cheapest model will have 32GB of internal memory. Of course, for now we don’t have solid details on pricing. But we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything on this.
