Black HTC Zara pictured, new Sense 5.5 UI included
Until HTC confirms its existence, EVleaks went ahead and posted officially-looking renders of the handset.
As rumored not long ago, the Zara is slightly larger than the HTC One Mini, sporting a 4.5 inch display (with 960 x 540 pixels). The rest of its features seem to include Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Sense 5.5 UI (we’re not sure yet what this new version brings), 8MP rear camera with LED flash, dual speakers on the front, Beats Audio, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8930) processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 2,100 mAh battery.
The watermark seen on the image, @urbanstrata, is there for a funny reason. That’s the Twitter account of Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC. He had previously dismissed an HTC One Max render revealed by EVleaks, calling it “fake”. Regarding the HTC Zara, Jeff Gordon only said that “HTC doesn’t comment or rumors and speculations.”
The HTC Zara should be released before the end of this year, almost certainly costing less than the One Mini. Sprint could sell the new handset in the US.
