Sony Xperia Z1 (Honami) teaser video revealed
Sony has already confirmed that it’s going to officially announce its next-generation flagship smartphone on September 4 – by repeatedly posting teaser images of it. Now, the Japanese company has also released a short video that allows us to see more of the upcoming handset.
The video reconfirms that the smartphone – codenamed Honami – is waterproof, comes with G lens branding, and is pretty thin. Its final name is still a mystery, but it could be Xperia Z1. In any case, Sony is letting us now that “the best [it has] is about to get even better” with the new handset.
If previous rumors are correct, the new Xperia will feature Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a 5 inch Full HD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 20MP rear camera, and a 3,300 mAh battery.
Sony will probably want to sell the Honami / Z1 in many markets around the world. Until now, only EE (in the UK) has confirmed its interest in the new device. We’ll let you know more on this as soon as further details arrive.
September 4 is also the day when Samsung will unveil a new high-end Android device, too – namely the Galaxy Note III (plus the Galaxy Gear smartwatch – but this isn’t an Xperia Z1 competitor anyway).
