LG Nexus 5 shows up in Google’s Android KitKat statue unveiling video

Despite Google not commenting on it, there is little doubt that Nexus 5 smartphone is coming later this year, with Android 4.4 KitKat on board.

Every major Android release had its own Nexus, and there’s very little reason for Google to change that. What we do not know for sure yet, is who will make the new Nexus, how it will look, what the specs and price of the device will be.

Two rumored contenders for Nexus 5 OEM are LG and Motorola. And today, with the first glimpse of the device, LG seems to be the more likely one.

The picture above is a screengrab from the Android KitKat statue unveiling video at Google’s headquarters, from earlier today. It shows yet unseen smartphone with Nexus inscription, big camera lens and, possibly, LG logo on the back. The video has been made private by Google when first reports about Nexus 5 in it surfaced, lending even more credence to the Nexus 5 speculation.

The latest rumors for LG’s Nexus 5 have it with Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 or 800 CPU, 5.2” 1080p Full HD display, 13 megapixel camera, and possible $299 starting price for a 8GB model.

Google Nexus 5 with Android 4.4 KitKat on board should launch sometime in the first part of Q4.
