Some LG D820 Nexus 5 specs show up in FCC documents

Information about the new LG Google Nexus 5 continues to pop-up in unexpected places.

Couple of days ago we caught a glimpse of Nexus 5 in Google’s KitKat statue video. Today, it seems, someone has mixed up the dates in FCC confidentiality request filings, and a bunch of device test documents with pics and some of the specs became public prematurely.

LG Nexus 5 goes under the model number D820, and comes equipped with:

  • 7 band LTE connectivity
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU
  • 5” display
  • Bleutooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac
  • 2300 mAh battery
  • Qi Wireless charging
  • Dimensions: 131.9 mm long, 68.2mm wide

The new Nexus is shaping up to be a pretty powerful device. The only thing that worries me, is its battery. 2300mAh for a smartphone with 5” display does not seem like enough. Unless Android KitKat has some breakthrough power management techniques, I’m afraid that LG Nexus 5 endurance may disappoint.

And what about the rumored Motorola  and cheap LG Nexus with Snapdragon 600 CPU? They may be coming too.

Recently Google redesigned their Nexus page, and the smartphone section now says “Phones” (plural). It may not mean much, but Google never had more than one Nexus phone ever since the program launched. Now they may be hinting plans to expand the flagship smartphone brand to several devices.

Motorola Nexus and cheaper LG Nexus would fit nicely in there.
