New Verizon Motorola Droid 5 coming soon?
It looks like Verizon is planning to release a new QWERTY-equipped Motorola handset. This should be the successor to the Droid 4 (introduced in early 2012), and is seemingly called Motorola Droid 5.
Some photos that reportedly show the Droid 5 have appeared in China, showing the new smartphone next to the Motorola Photon Q (launched by Sprint in August last year).
It’s said that the Droid 5 features a 4.3 inch HD (1280 x 720) display, dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 processor, Adreno 255 GPU, 1GB of RAM, NFC, wireless charging, and MicroSD card support. As you can see, it’s by no means a high-end device.

There is no word on what Android version the Droid 5 will run at launch. Moreover, there is no info on when Verizon intends to announce the handset.
Meanwhile, you can still buy the old Motorola Droid 4 at Verizon – it costs $99.99 on contract, or $449.99 off-contract.
