Nokia Lumia 1020 64GB officially launched by Telefonica (O2 UK)

Back in July, when Nokia announced the Lumia 1020, it said that Telefonica would have an exclusive 64GB version of the handset – which doubles the internal memory of the regular 32GB version. Now the 1020 64GB has been officially launched by Telefonica’s O2 in the UK.

Unfortunately, the 64GB smartphone can’t be purchased right away. But you can pre-order it here, and O2 will ship it on September 25.

Most likely, the Nokia Lumia 1020 64GB will be also available in other Telefonica markets pretty soon – like Germany, Spain or Brazil.

“We think there will be a lot of demand for a 64GB device. Because the phone shoots high-resolution pictures, there’s a lot of demand for storage. But it’s not just about pictures. We’ve recently launched our 4G service here in the UK, and that’s going to make a lot of difference to what people feel they can do with their phones,” said David Johnson, General Manager, Devices, O2 UK.

As you may already know, the Lumia 1020 is one of the best cameraphones ever – thanks to its 41MP PureView camera with Xenon flash, Carl Zeiss optics, and OIS. That aside, the handset features LTE and HSPA connectivity, a 4.5 inch PureMotionHD+ display (1280 x 768 pixels), Dolby Digital Plus sound, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and a 2,000 mAh battery.
