Android 4.4 KitKat update confirmed for Pantech Vega Iron
Pantech has confirmed on Twitter (in Korean) that the Iron would be updated to the latest version of Google’s mobile OS. It did not mention when customers should expect the update though.
Of course, other manufacturers – including Samsung, Sony, LG and HTC – are likely going to update some of their devices to KitKat shortly after this is released.
Google has officially announced the upcoming launch of Android 4.4 KitKat at the beginning of September. However, it didn’t say exactly when it will be available to download. It will happen in the next few months anyway, and the LG-made Nexus 5 is probably going to be the first device to run it out of the box.
Back to the Pantech Vega Iron (pictured above), this ran Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean at launch. Its features include a 5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display with a 2.4mm-thin bezel on the left and right side, LTE connectivity, 13MP rear camera, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, and a 2,150 mAh battery (which supposedly provides the same talk-time and stand-by time as a 3,000 mAh battery).
