Nokia Lumia 1520 might be announced on October 22. Verizon version allegedly pictured
Those who are expecting Nokia to officially announce the Lumia 1520 this month might be disappointed.
According to some sources that spoke to EVleaks, the new Lumia could be unveiled only in the second half of next month – on October 22. This is in line with what we heard a few days ago, when a report had it that the device would be available at AT&T starting November.
Of course, since we don’t have any official details at the moment, anything can happen in the end.
Announcement date aside, it looks like the Lumia 1520 isn’t headed just to AT&T in the US, but also to Verizon.
A photo that allegedly presents a Verizon-branded Lumia 1520 has appeared in China, showing the device’s white rear side. Alongside Verizon’s logo, a 20MP PureView camera with dual LED flash can be seen on the back.
The Lumia 1520 (codenamed Bandit) will be Nokia’s first phablet, as well as the first Windows Phone device with such large dimensions. It will run Windows Phone 8 GDR3, reportedly featuring a 6 inch Full HD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 3,400 mAh battery.
Both AT&T and Verizon are also supposedly getting ready to launch Nokia’s first Windows RT tablet, aka Sirius. We’ll let you know how things are going as soon as new and meaningful details are unveiled.
