Verizon’s Nokia Lumia 929 leaks, it’s probably a Lumia 1520 variant

Verizon Wireless’ version of the unannounced Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet – first seen about a week ago – will be likely called Lumia 929.

EVleaks (here and here) has posted two renders that reportedly show the Lumia 929, both featuring Verizon logos. The image which presents the rear of the device reveals a 20MP PureView camera – just like the photo that appeared last week.

It’s said that Verizon’s Lumia 929 won’t be as big as the 6 inch Lumia 1520. However, it should still have a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, as well as a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Naturally, Windows Phone 8 GDR 3 is expected to be on board.

According to The Verge, the Lumia 929 will be released by Verizon sometime before the end of this year. There is no word on how much it will cost. However, since the carrier’s Nokia Lumia 928 is currently being offered for $99.99 on contract, the new, larger and better 929 will probably be sold for $199 on contract.

Nokia is getting ready to host a press event next month, on October 22, when both the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 929 might be officially announced. In addition, the company could also unveil its first Windows RT tablet (codenamed Sirius), which should be released in the US by AT&T and Verizon.
