Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for HTC One coming this month (at least in Canada)
Launched around the world back in March, the HTC One initially ran Android 4.1.2. An update to Android 4.2.2 is already available, and now another one – which will bring Android 4.3 – is also ready for roll-out.
Jason Mackenzie, President of HTC USA, has recently tweeted that One users over in Canada should start receiving Android 4.3 Jelly Bean before the end of this month. Moreover, the 4.3 update for the HTC One Developer Edition will be released this week.
As for the One that’s sold by US carriers, no release dates have been given, but HTC is “still working hard & optimistic for” certificating the 4.3 update.
Naturally, all HTC One versions should also be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, but we have no idea when this will happen.
Another HTC smartphone that’s getting an update soon is Verizon’s Droid DNA. Sadly, Android 4.3 hasn’t been mentioned, but Jason Mackenzie said that the DNA would get Android 4.2.2 before the end of the year.
