T-Mobile Alcatel One Touch Fierce and One Touch Evolve announced
Two Alcatel-branded Android-powered smartphones are coming to T-Mobile next month. The Alcatel One Touch Fierce is the higher-end of the two (yet it’s still nothing more than a midranger), while the Evolve is an entry-level offering.
The Alcatel One Touch Fierce comes with a 4.5-inch 540×960 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, a VGA front camera, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, HSPA support, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of built-in storage space, microSD card support, and a 1,800 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Alcatel One Touch Evolve has a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera, a single-core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This phone has specs that remind us of days gone by, and is incredibly low-end for this day and age. Keep that in mind before deciding to purchase one.
As for pricing, it goes like this. The Fierce will set you back an initial payment of $19.99 followed by 24 monthly payments of $6. The Evolve is $27.99 down, and then 24 monthly payments of $3. It’s interesting that the lower-end device is has the bigger down payment requirement.
Select T-Mobile stores will start selling both handsets on October 5. The wider rollout will start on October 16 for the Alcatel One Touch Evolve (with online pre-orders debuting two days earlier), and on October 23 for the One Touch Fierce.
