HTC One Max release date could be October 15 or October 17
The HTC One Max has been leaking like crazy over the past few months, but the Taiwanese company’s first phablet still isn’t official. That may all change pretty soon, though (at least we hope so). Yesterday we told you that two versions of the One Max got certified for sale in China, and that usually only happens close to the release of a new mobile device.
And now there are a couple of rumors going around about when exactly we should expect to see the HTC One Max in stores, at least in some parts of the world. They talk about different dates, but they’re only a couple of days away. So the key takeaway here, regardless of which date ends up being true, is that the One Max could finally be out in mid-October.
That will either happen on October 15, or on October 17. The former date comes from an account on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter, while the latter originates on a well-known Taiwanese forum. And who knows, maybe they’re both true, one applying to China and the other to Taiwan. It’s not very clear at this point, but, once again, the rough time frame is more important in this case than the actual dates put forth.
Yesterday we heard that the HTC One Max may retail in China for around US$816, and today there are mumblings about it being priced in Taiwan at NT$23,900, which would be US$809 – so basically the same price, give or take.
