Dell Venue 8 Android Jelly Bean tablet coming soon?
Dell has recently made it clear that it’s not interested in making smartphones anymore. The company released several smartphones a few years ago – including the Android-powered Aero, and the Venue Pro (which runs Windows Phone 7) – but they weren’t successful. What about tablets then? Well, Dell is sticking with tablets, and it might soon release an Android one called Venue 8 (model number T02D001).
Discovered over at the Wi-Fi Alliance’s website, the Dell Venue 8 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It’s probably an 8 inch tablet – so maybe Dell will launch it as an iPad Mini competitor (Apple’s new 7.9 inch tablet is expected to be announced this month).
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we can say about the Dell Venue 8 for now.
Another new 8 inch Dell tablet, but running Windows Phone 8.1, has been confirmed recently. This features an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, and should be officially unveiled later this month. Maybe the Androified Venue 8 will be showcased at the same time. We’ll let you know.
