Dell intros cheap Venue 8 and Venue 7 Android tablets. Pro models (running Windows 8.1) also announced
Dell’s rumored Venue 8 Android tablet has been officially announce today – alongside a smaller Android tablet dubbed Venue 7, and two Windows 8.1 tablets.
Both the Venue 8 and Venue 7 run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, come with 2GHz Intel Clover Trail processors, and are affordable devices.
The Venue 8 features an 8 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels, 16GB of internal memory, and optional LTE connectivity. Naturally, the Venue 7 has a 7 inch display – with the same 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, and the same 16GB of internal memory.
Dell will start selling the Venue 7 and Venue 8 on October 18 in the US and “select countries around the world.” The Venue 7 has been priced at $149 (Wi-Fi-only version), while the Venue 8 is a tad more expensive: $179.99 (Wi-Fi-only version).
As for the two Windows 8.1 tablets mentioned at the beginning of the article, these are the Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro (also powered by Intel processors). The Venue 8 Pro sports a 1280 x 800 pixels screen and costs $299.99. The Venue 11 Pro has a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, being offered for $499.99. Like the Android tablets, the Windows 8.1 ones will be out on October 18.
